1. All Files Access (MANAGE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE)
- What it is: This permission allows the App broad access to files across your device's storage.
- Why we need it: As a file manager, the App needs this permission to allow you to seamlessly browse, manage, copy, move, rename, compress, extract, and delete files and folders located anywhere on your device's shared storage.
- How data is handled: Your files are never uploaded, transmitted, or analyzed remotely. All file operations occur strictly within the local environment of your device.
2. App Usage Data (PACKAGE_USAGE_STATS)
- What it is: This permission allows the App to view your app usage history and statistics.
- Why we need it: This is specifically required for the App's "Cleanup" feature. It enables the App to determine which installed applications are rarely used, helping you identify and remove unnecessary apps to free up storage space.
- How data is handled: App usage statistics are analyzed locally on your device to generate cleanup recommendations. This information is never collected or sent to our servers.
3. Query All Packages (QUERY_ALL_PACKAGES)
- What it is: This permission allows the App to retrieve a list of all applications currently installed on your device.
- Why we need it: The App uses this to display a comprehensive list of installed applications and their storage footprint, empowering you to manage your storage effectively and uninstall apps if desired.
- How data is handled: The list of installed packages is only used locally to populate the app management interface. It is never logged, transmitted, or shared.
Data Sharing & Third Parties
Files N Folders is built with a privacy-first approach. We strictly adhere to the following principles:
- No Data Collection: We do not collect personal information, usage analytics, or crash reports.
- No Third-Party SDKs: The App does not integrate any third-party analytics or tracking software.
- No Advertising: The App is completely ad-free, meaning no advertising networks are tracking your behavior.
- No Data Sharing: Since we do not collect any data, there is absolutely no data shared with or sold to third parties.
Children's Privacy
Our application does not knowingly collect or solicit any information from anyone under the age of 13. Since we collect no personal information whatsoever, children's data is inherently protected.
